Top Universities in Kenya

Kenya features 62 universities in the recently released Top 20 best Universities in Kenya. Of these only 10 have fallen in the rank this year with the majority of Kenyan Universities making significant improvements.

The University of Nairobi 


The University of Nairobi (UoN) is once again the top University in Kenya. The University has branch campuses in Kikuyu, Parkland, Lower Kabete Upper Kabete, chiromo and Kisumu. The University of Nairobi offers courses and and programmes in different fields leading to officially recognised  certificates, diplomas,  bachelors degrees, Masters degrees, and  Doctorate degrees in several areas of study.

The Universit provisional of several academic and non academic facilities to the student’s needs like the modern libraries, housing, sports facilities, financial aids and or scholarships, study abroad and online courses. There are also exchange programmes and distant learning opportunities not excluding administrative resources.

 Kenyatta University


Kenyata University(KU) is another public Higher learning institution in Kenya. It comes second in position after the university of Nairobi.  The University also has branch campuses in the following locations. Mombasa, kitui,Nakuru, Embu, Ruiru, Nyeri, Kiambu, Kericho and Dadaab.

Kenyatta University offers courses and and programmes in different fields leading to officially recognised  certificates, diplomas,  bachelors degrees, Masters degrees, and  Doctorate degrees. KU also has modern housing, sports facilities, financial aids and or scholarships, study abroad and online courses.  Strathmore University 


Strathmore University(SU) comes third in the Top ten Rankings. It is The top best business school in Kenya. A Catholic and a private University with particularly successful accounting programmes. There are different schools, faculties and institutes in Strathmore. Business school, School of Law, Accountancy, School of Graduate Studies, School of humanities and social Sciences, School of Computing and Engineering Sciences, Institute of Advanced Studies in International Criminal Justice. Strathmore University offers courses and programmes leading to officially recognised certificates, diplomas, bachelors degrees, Masters degrees and Doctorate degrees

Strathmore University has also the ability to incorporate students from 36 nationalities like Uganda China,Tanzania and Zimbabwe.  It has numerous sports team, that are part of the Kenya National teams in fields like hockey, rugby, basketball, handball and chess games. The University offers scholarships schemes to the students.

 United States International University Africa 


At number four is the United States International University (USIU). It is a high profit private higher institution of learning in Kenya. It becomes the second top best private University after Strathmore University. Established in 1989, USIU Africa offers courses and programmes leading to officially recognised certificates, diplomas, bachelors degrees, Masters degrees and Doctorate degrees. Apart from the financial aid and scholarships to study abroad, the international University offers exchange programmes, online courses and administrative services.

 Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology 


Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology becomes the top five University in Kenya Established in 1994, it is a public Higher Education Institution. It has branch campuses in the following locations: Mombasa, Taita Taveta, Nakuru, Kisii, Kitale and Arusha ( Tanzania)

JKUAT offers courses  to officially recognised certificates, diplomas, bachelors degrees, Masters degrees and Doctorate degrees. As a public university, it also provides academic and non academic facilities and services to students including modern libraries, housing, sports facilities, financial aids and or scholarships.

 Egerton University Njoro


Egerton University(EU) is the number six in the too ranking. The 33 year old Kenyan Higher Learning Institution has a selective admission policy. (EU) offers courses. and programmes leading to officially recognised certificates, diplomas, bachelors degrees, Masters degrees and Doctorate degrees. Apart from the financial aid and scholarships to study abroad.

The academic structure of the institution ranges from The Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences , Faculty of  Commerce, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Education and Human Resources, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Environmental Studies and Resource Development. Apart from the financial aid and scholarships to study abroad, Egerton University offers exchange programmes, online courses and administrative services.

 

 Moi University 


Established in 1984, Moi University is the fifth public university in Kenya. At position  seven of the top Universities in Kenya, the learning institution. It is located in suburban Eldoret , Uasin Gishu. Moi University also just  like other Universities,  has branches in Kenya in the following regions: Eldoret West Campus, Nairobi, Kitale, Kericho, Odero Akang’o. Moi University offers offers courses and programmes leading to officially recognised certificates, diplomas, bachelors degrees, Masters degrees and Doctorate degrees. Apart from the financial aid and scholarships to study abroad.

  So one of the things I always pay additional for is the window seat for two reasons, one, I don’t want people bumping into me if I get the seat near the isle. Two, The view. While I’m boarding I hear kids already screaming… I’m praying “Please don’t let them be seated near me. Now before anyone gets offended about me not wanting to sit with kids… The reason I prefer to not be seated with kids is because some of these parents don’t make their kids listen, put earphones on etc. Just my luck my window seat is with them.
